Happy New Year!!!!
Bring on 2017, this year will be what you make of it so make a choice on how you’d like it to be. Of course there will be things that will be outside of your control but it is how you choose to respond and deal with them that makes the difference. My second youngest sister sent me a message the other day and she was all upset because she had read her Chinese Horoscope for 2017 – the year of the Rooster, which is her birth year. She said that she thought 2016 was bad and that 2017 is going to be worse still. She added that she thought your birth year was supposed to be lucky. She said it’s all doom and gloom and she was so upset she could cry.
To which I responded “Oh please, the year will be what you make it…it’s up to you. And anyway, we’re Vietnamese…not Chinese :)”
My sister’s mood perked up and she responded “You’re always the voice of reason. Thank you xoxo” to which I added “You make the year how you want it… you have things to look forward to – new home, new role, new year!”
There is a Buddhist quote that resonated with me which I have shared below. My daughter also summed it up best when a friend at school wasn’t being nice to her and some other friends – “What you say is what you are”. I think we forget that what we would like in our lives, we have to make a conscious decision to choose it – if we want love, happiness and all things positive then we must choose that mindset and give out the same energy. I’ve spoken about karma previously and have observed it in my own life. I won’t say it is easy but if you choose to cultivate a positive mindset, I feel it helps keep you resilient to what life throws at you.
So, please be mindful to choose how you’d like to respond to things this year. Choose your mindset and watch it flow back to you in spades. Each one of us deserves a good life – whatever form that takes as it will be different for each individual. Continue to Laugh, Love, Live – enjoy life, be thankful and love what you have because when you do, you’ll realise that you have more than enough! Live your life as only you can. Hope this year is filled with fun, laughter, friendship, love and an abundance of good health – Peace and blessings!
